Who operates this site

This site is operated by Solitaire Deck. It is a free solitaire site: you open a page, the cards are dealt, and you play. There is nothing to install and nothing to join.

This policy explains what happens to information when you use the site. If anything here is unclear, write to privacy@solitaire-d.online and ask.

What we collect

Nothing you give us, because there is nothing to give. The site has no accounts, no sign-up, no login and no forms of any kind. You are never asked for a name, an email address, a password or a payment detail, so none of those things exist on our side.

No analytics product is installed. There is no Google Analytics tag and no comparable tool on any page, so how you play, how long you stay and which games you open are not measured and not sent to us. If that changes, this page will be updated to say so and the date at the top will move.

What your browser stores

Your saved games, your settings and your statistics are kept in your own browser, in local storage, under a single key named cardroom.v1. That data stays on your device. It is never transmitted to us or to anyone else, and we have no way to read it. Clearing site data for this site in your browser removes it — along with your unfinished deals and your win record, which is the trade.

Local storage is not a cookie, and the two are worth keeping apart. As of the date at the top of this page, the site sets no cookies at all.

Advertising

We intend to show advertising here, supplied by Google AdSense. It is not running yet, and nothing on the site currently requests an ad or sets an advertising cookie.

When advertising is enabled, Google and its advertising partners may set cookies or read similar identifiers on your device in order to serve ads, limit how often you see the same one, and measure whether it worked. Some of those ads may be personalized using information Google already holds about you.

Where the law requires your consent for that — the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, for example — you will be asked before any such cookie is set, through a Google-certified consent management tool, and you will be able to change or withdraw your answer later.

• You can turn off personalized advertising for your Google account at any time, whether or not you ever visit this site, at Google Ad Settings.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Hostinger. Like every web host, its servers keep standard request logs: your IP address, the time of the request, the page requested, and the browser and operating system your browser reports. Those logs exist so pages can be delivered, faults can be diagnosed, and abuse — floods of automated requests, attempts to break in — can be blocked. They are produced by the hosting infrastructure itself, not by anything added to these pages, and they are not used to build a profile of you.

Why we are allowed to do this

Where the GDPR or a law like it applies, anything done with personal data needs a lawful basis. There is very little to name here, because there is very little processing.

• The host's server logs — our legitimate interests in delivering the pages you asked for, keeping the site standing up, and stopping abuse. Nothing in those logs is used to profile you or to advertise to you.
• What your browser stores — the single local-storage key that holds your saved games, settings and statistics is strictly necessary for the thing you came here to do, and it never leaves your device, so no consent is asked for it and we are not processing it at all.
• Email you send us — if you write to one of the addresses on this site, we use your message and your address to answer you, and for nothing else.

There is no basis to name for accounts, marketing or profiling, because none of those exist. If advertising goes live as described above, the lawful basis for ad and measurement cookies will be your consent wherever consent is legally required, collected before any such cookie is set and withdrawable at any time — and this section will be rewritten to say exactly what is then true, rather than left to cover it in advance.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data is held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to its processing. Send any such request to privacy@solitaire-d.online.

In practice there is usually very little for us to act on. We keep no accounts and no visitor database, so almost everything connected to your use of this site is either in your own browser or in the host's server logs. Clearing your browser's site data satisfies most access and deletion requests immediately and without waiting for us. For the server logs, write to the address above and we will pass the request to the host.

You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority if you think your data has been mishandled.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. There is no mechanism on the site through which a child could submit personal information to us. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has somehow provided personal data, write to privacy@solitaire-d.online and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

This policy will change when the site does — most likely when advertising goes live. The date at the top of this page is the date of the current version, and that version is the one that applies. There is no archive of earlier versions; the current text governs.
